The start was soft.
Ola from Lisbon. I've just arrived from a three hour train ride from Porto. It is 1am. Dirk invited me to his house the other night for dinner with his team. The 1995 Leflaive Chevalier Montrachet made a lasting impression and I keep revisiting it in my mind. I am too sleepy to type my notes but will share some quick impressions. The 1982 Chateau Latour was rocking.
The 1983 Guigal La Mouline was so tertiary.
The men were pensive. All six of them.
The 1997 Sauzet Batard Montrachet was badly oxidized -- dead.
The 1963 Dow Vintage Port was elegant and complex.
The 1993 Fritz Haag Brauneberger-Juffer-Sonnenuhr Riesling Auslese was pure and intense.
As Dirk said, "Yum, yum!"
