I am sitting at the airport, waiting for Brad to pick me up. I haven't personally met Brad yet so I have no idea what he looks like or who I am looking for... We've been corresponding via email and have mutual colleagues and friends in wine. He is living in McClaren Vale, Australia. He generously offered shelter, use of a car, and insights into the region. My Virgin Blue flight, a subsidiary of Qantas, arrived 30 minutes early to Adelaide from Sydney so I am here typing away while I await.
Hopefully, I am back to writing on a more frequent basis and can share my impressions and thoughts with you... there have been many.
I'm sorry that I haven't written in a while but after my month working vintage in Central Otago, New Zealand, I've been busy visiting the wine regions of North Canterbury, including Waipara and Waikari and Bhelheim in Marlborough. I've been able to include a spa visit and massage to the sulfur and mineral-rich waters of Hamner Springs as well as a fishing excursion in the gorgeous town of Kaikoroa. This followed with my return to Australia and alas, urban territory with a week in Sydney.
Personally, things are going well. Sometimes I get a bit lonely but I've met some very nice people. I've been impressed with the kindness of generosity of the people here.
